We got there and Lewis was so particular about where on the lake we were going to fish... Does it matter? I seriously thought someone had put something in his oatmeal that morning. We finally found the perfect spot and got all set up. He gave me a fishing pole and we started fishing. He was catching fish left and right, I think I caught two (one in a half)? Mine were all minnies, of course! After a little while Lewis told me he wanted to try a different hook on my fishing pole, I was cool with that. He gave it back to me and we kept fishing, for what seemed like hours... and I caught nothing!!! Finally I told Lewis that this was super fun and all but I'd had enough fishing for one day. Trying not to smile he asked "Ally are you sure you haven't caught anything?" I think I could tell if I caught something, but he insisted looking right at my hook. I was so confused... Was he losing it? All I could see was a circular looking hook.. Wait a circle hook? How odd? No wonder I hadn't been catching anything. I turned the pole around to examine the hook more closely. Lewis was standing next to me now as I a looked at the odd hook. It kinda looked like a ring... A huge hideous ring, and then it started to dawn on me... Crap this isn't the ring I picked out. I looked over at Lewis who was kneeling on one knee holding a black satin box. I couldn't stop the smile taking over my face as he opened the box and nestled inside was my ring. I couldn't wipe the goofy grin off my face. Of course I said YES!!!! He slipped that ring on my finger and wrapped me in his strong arms, a place I never want to leave.
After fishing I couldn't stop staring at my hand and the wonderful man who was now my fiance eeek!! It was all SO exciting! We ate hot dogs, made ice cream, and cuddled in the bed of his truck. We couldn't stop smiling at each other, it was the perfect night.
